ALL-AMERICAN SOAP BOX DERBY

August 1955      

 

                     

       

        As I stood there proudly saluting those beautiful colors,  the fact that Hart, Weese, Van Voorhis, and thousands of other "still missing" POWs and MIAs weren't enjoying that precious moment with me kept invading my numbed mind.  In my mind's eye, that beautiful flag was at half staff and rightfully so.
